Propagating Daylily

'JESSICA LILIAN DAYLILY'

Starting daylily's from seed is new for me. I have collected a lot of seed from the huge amount of Stella De Oro daylily's where I work.

Below are pictures of where I planted the seeds along the border where this year the alyssum didn't do so well. I think it will be a pretty, we will see and I will keep my fingers crossed. There are different ways to propagate daylily's. I wanted to try my hand at seed and let nature takes it's course.

I plan on starting some of the seed indoors as well (just in case nature doesn't want to cooperate)

I didn't know you could start daylilies from seeds! I'll be interested in seeing how they all turn out.

Is the Jessica Lilian one you hybridized? It must not be too difficult to do, I surely see a lot of people cross pollenating to create new hybrids.

How interesting! I didn't know you could start daylillies from seed either, or at least I never considered that fact. I look forward to seeing the outcome, keep us posted! :)

Roses and liliacs:

The Jessica Lilian comes from a clump and was not hybridized.

I want to try my hand at cross pollenating too!
