Vegetables 2008

Weather means more when you have a garden. There's nothing like listening to a shower and thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans. ~Marcelene Cox
We had our first batch of green beans (Bush Kentucky Wonder) from our garden on Sunday. And it was delicious!

The veggie garden is a little behind in producing, due to flooding, but is coming along nicely now. I counted 40 possible corn husks, and I say possible as I just counted the corn silks sticking out. This is my second year with sweet corn, my first year growing some unfortunately didn't turn out a single ear of corn.

Some of the zucchini rotted but we do have some survivors.
First Zucchini Squash-mmm yum!

Tomatoes are a little slow this year compared to last. (planted Big Boy and Early Girl)

Just a few tomatoes
Is that a bit of orange/red on the bottom of that tomato? I hope so! I've been craving a BLT for weeks now!

Karne, your garden looks great. I see that hint of orange on the tomato. It seems to be taking forever this year. My tomatoes are still smaller and greener:)
